Sayko Sankalp Sabha


Senior Leader of CPI(M) Com. Rajendra Singh Munda, Com. Mochiray Munda

Birsa Munda Amar Rahe


On the occasion of martyrdom of Birsa Munda, a legendary figure in
Chhotanagpur and leader of the historic Munda uprising against the
British and money lenders, a programme was organised at CPI(M) State
Committee Office at Ranchi. CPI(M) State Secretary Gopikant Baksi
paying homage to Birsa Munda.

Grand Success of Jharkhand Bandh called by Left and Secular Opposition parties

Ranchi, 24th October, 2016

CPI (M) State Secretariat congratulates the people of Jharkhand for the success of Jharkhand Bandh called by Left & Secular Opposition parties on the issue of “Gola, Barkagaon and Khunti” – Police firing, against anti Tribal and anti peasant ordinance to amend the CNT & SPT Act and against the eviction of poor habitants on Gair Majurva land (Govt. land).

The success of the bandh has registered the solidarity of common people against anti people activities of BJP – AJSU led government at the same time has clearly mandated that trading of resources of Jharkand will not be allowed by using  oppressive State machinery.

CPI(M) appeals to the people of Jharkhand to consciously create a stiff resistance and bulwark against the BJP-AJSU government’s anti farmer steps.

The information received so far by the CPI(M) State centre, more than 2000 activists of left & secular opposition parties have been arrested by the Jharkhand Police. In  State capital, apart from the others,

State Secretary of CPI(M) Gopi Kant Bakshi, State Secretariat Member Prakash Viplav, Surjit Sinha, Sufal Mahto, Praful Linda and Dist.Secretary Sukhnath Lohra were arrested and released later on.

Delegation to the Governor

In the evening today a delegation of Left and opposition parties met the Governor and urged her intervention in the matter of unprovoked firing by the police at Saiko Village of Khunti District on October 22, 2016, killing one tribal Abraham Mundo and injuring seven when they were proceeding towards Ranchi to attend a rally called by 42 tribal organizations.

 The delegation protested the high handedness of the Police and the attempt of the State Government to curb fundamental rights to assemble and freedom of speech and urged her intervention to protect democratic rights of the people.

The delegation has also demanded that a Judicial commission be constituted headed by sitting High Court Judge to probe into the matter and demanded exemplary punishment for those responsible.

The delegation consisted of the family members of the victim, former Chief Minister and JMM leader, Hemant Soren, Subodh Kant Sahay-Congress, Gautam Sagar Rana – RJD, Bandhu Tirkey-JVM(P), Gopi Kant Bakshi – CPI(M), KD Singh-CPI and Sidheshwar Singh-SUCI (C).

The CPI(M) Jharkhand State Secretariat has decided to support RJD in Godda and CPI(ML) in Panki assembly constituencies in ensuing bye- elections.

CPI(M) will make intensive campaign to defeat ruling BJP in both the constituencies.

The CPI(M) has appealed to the voters of Godda and Panki constituencies to defeat BJP for the sake of communal harmony, unity of the working class and to raise the voice against anti-people policies of the Raghuvar Das government.
